ISLAMABAD: Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram arrived in Pakistan on Friday evening. Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik greeted Chidambaram at Chaklala Air base.
While talking to media on the air base, Malik said that better ties between India and Pakistan were important for the development of the region and prosperity of both nations.
Pakistan will take every possible step to improve relations between the two countries, he added.
Chidambaram said that India wants to have good relations with Pakistan.
The visiting home minister beside attending the Saarc conference of interior ministers on Saturday will hold meetings with the top leadership of Pakistan.
He will also meet his Pakistani counterpart and is likely to again press for action against the alleged masterminds of the 2008 Mumbai attacks.—DawnNews
